PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK

This course satisfies the requirements for first aid provision under HSE & OFSTED requirements; killing two birds with one stone. Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course elements are mapped across to the OFSTED 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA) Course. This course is ideally suited for Early Years & schools settings. The training will be relevant to these settings unlike traditional First Aid at Work course.

The cost of an individual place on a course at our training venues are from £85.00 each plus VAT.

The cost of a course for up to twelve persons on your premises is from £575 plus VAT.

Course Content

On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment and the need for recording incidents and actions
Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first-aid procedures
Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (adult and Paediatric)
Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock
Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.
To a child who is poisoned
Dealing with childhood illnesses
Burns
Poisons
Eye Injuries
Injuries to Bones Joints and Soft Tissue
Head Injury
Spinal Injury Management
Medical Conditions
Assessment of Learning
